Meditation Courses

The Australian Yoga Academy runs regular 4 week meditation courses throughout the year.

The courses focus on teaching meditation as a simple, practical skill. Rather than concentrating on one technique we'll teach you the key principles which apply to all meditations. This allows you to integrate meditation naturally and effortlessly into your daily life - wherever and whenever you are - and you'll be able to notice the benefits immediately.

The courses also present a variety of techniques so that you can find the ones that work best for you. You'll develop an understanding of how and why meditation works and the ability to adapt it to your own lifestyle and temperament. Meditation practiced this way is easy, effortless and fun.

The courses are run by Matthew Young, director of the Melbourne Meditation Centre. Students enjoy Matthew's practical, down-to-earth style, and Matthew enjoys teaching meditation as a simple skill free of extraneous beliefs, jargon or dogma.

Matthew has studied and practiced a wide variety of meditation techniques and traditions, both eastern and western, ancient and modern. He has recently studied with Eric Harrison, who has taught over 25,000 people to meditate and is one of Australia's most experienced meditation teachers.
